How BSM Works?
Blowsearch Secured Messenger utilizes the
OpenSSL library to provide encryption
routines for your Instant Messages. We use a combination of randomly
selected schemes and bit lengths, ranging up to 4096 bits, with additional
algorithms added in to make your messages even more secure. We start with
an RSA foundation and move out from there.
Your Random RSA Public Key is transferred to a server which uses a public key to transfer it.
That public key is then sent to anyone who sends you an IM.
It is important to note that you always transfer encrypted data
using your buddy's public key and key strength and they always send to you
using your public key and key strength.
Private keys are then used by the client to decrypt incoming
messages encoded using the public key.
If the instant message recipient does not have the Blowsearch Secured Messenger enabled
or installed on their computer then nothing is encrypted and your communications will carry on as usual.
All of this is seamless to the
user. The only way you would know that a message is secured, is the
addition of BSM lock logos, which will appear in your chat window.
